Zo gek is dat ook weer niet, want in de 17de en 18de eeuw waren muzikale automaten een ware hype op de feestelijkheden van de beau monde. Leonardo da Vinci ontwierp een mechanishe leeuw met een borstkas vol fleurs-de-lis; later ontwikkelde Jacques Vaucanson een ademende dwarsfluitspeler en maakte Pierre Joquet-Droz de "Joyeuse de Tympanon," een robotmeisje dat een cimbalom speelde. Voor deze bal arrangeerde Sebastian Bradt dansmuziek uit de Barok voor de robots en voegde een eigen compositie, The Blind System, toe. This year's project with the M&M robot orchestra is still a bit of a secret. But we can promise a show full of light, dance and musical surprises that makes the longest night of the year pass in an instant.
